We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the site. This includes anonymous usage analytics (pages viewed, approximate location at the district level, browser and device type), and — when you cast a Fan Vote — your selection along with an anonymous device-level marker stored in your own browser so the same device does not vote twice on the same poll.

We do not ask for your name, phone number, email address, voter ID, or any government-issued identification anywhere on the site.

Anonymous analytics help us understand which constituencies, districts, and historical elections are most viewed, so we can prioritise data improvements. Fan Vote data is aggregated and published in real time as percentage breakdowns — individual votes are never published or shared.

This site uses browser storage to remember your Fan Vote selections and site preferences.

We may display advertisements served by third-party advertising companies, including Google. Google and its partners may use cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet, in order to provide advertisements about goods and services that may interest you. Third-party vendors, including Google, may also use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.

We link to external sources including the Election Commission of India (eci.gov.in) and Lok Dhaba (Ashoka University). These sites have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review separately. This policy does not apply to third-party sites.

Anonymous analytics are retained for up to 26 months. Fan Vote records are retained until 90 days after the relevant election concludes, after which only the aggregate percentages are kept for historical reference.

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Because we do not collect personally identifying information by default, data on our servers generally cannot be traced back to you. You can clear your own Fan Vote marker at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for this site.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We recommend checking this page periodically.
